Josef Christ is the conductor of junge bläserphilharmonie ulm.
He studied clarinet at Mannheim University of Music and Performing Arts.

From 1988 to 1996 he worked as a clarinet and bass clarinet player for Ulm Philharmonic Orchestra.

He gained valuable stimuli while studying conducting with Tim Reynish (GB), José Pascual-Vilaplana (Spain), László Marosi (Hungary) and Guy Woolfenden (GB) and others.

Further, Josef Christ studied wind orchestra conducting with Maurice Hamers at Augsburg-Nuremberg School of Music and with Alex Schillings in the Netherlands.

Since 1996 he has conducted junge bläserphilharmonie ulm, from 2004 to 2014 the orchestra Kreisverbandsjugendblasorchester Ulm/Alb-Donau (KVJBO) as well.

Following the German 2008 Orchestra Contest he was awarded a conductor’s grant by the German Council of Music.
